Autumn 2010

Hoping that you had a lovely summer, though it seems to have flown past. We have a bumper crop of delicious cookers ready to harvest for the relish, and the crab apples are beginning to scatter across the grass. The Border Union Show was a great success in July and a lovely opportunity to meet so many of our customers. We were invited to supply pate and relish to Fine & Wild, a new Scottish gourmet hamper company in the Borders, and The Spotty Dog, a new Deli venture for Mark McRitchie in Lauder. We wish both company's every success.

We were delighted to announce that Crookedshaws Farmhouse won Gold in the Great Taste Awards 2009 for our Apricot & Roasted Pine Kernel chicken liver pate, and it still proves to be one of our most popular varieties.

In addition to the range our delicious Plum Relish is now available. Wonderful with our pate and perfect as an accompaniment to cold meats, a dollop added to stews and casseroles gives them a delicious lift, and my husband loves it with curry.

Make the most of your time with family and friends, and serve our collection of pate with drinks or as a tasty starter. It is the most versatile fast food. Crookedshaws Pate is available from Mr. Lees the renowned butcher in Kelso and Yetholm.  Gosford Farm Shop in Aberlady and Dirleton Gallery in the beautiful village of Dirleton where Catherine and her team serve scrumptious home cooked lunches, speciality coffees and slow Sunday breakfasts. The Ancum Pantry, winners of one of the prestigious Scottish Countryside Alliance Awards for their support of the community, stock a full range of our pate. They are open 7 days a week and provide fresh, locally sourced produce with traditional 1950's courtesy. It will soon be available from The Spotty Dog at Lauder, and supplied by Fine & Wild within their Scottish artisan gourmet hampers.

You can try it in both theTopiary Cafe within Mayfield Garden Centre at Kelso, and Westgate Gallery in North Berwick who offer Crookedshaws Farmhouse Pate on their delicious lunch menus.

Please contact us if we can be of assistance, or if you would like to discuss a private order. We look forward to hearing from you.
