Summer 2010
Here we are again amidst the summer holidays. The blackbirds are enjoying the strawberry patch even faster than the children. We are looking forward to the Border Union Show in July. It was lovely to greet so many of our customers last year, and we hope to meet and make so many more this time. We were delighted to announce that Crookedshaws Farmhouse won Gold in the Great Taste Awards 2009 for our Apricot & Roasted Pine Kernel chicken liver pate. We are keeping our fingers crossed for the results of this years awards. In addition to the range our delicious Plum Relish is now available. Wonderful with our pate and perfect as an accompaniment to cold meats, and my husband loves it with curry.
Make the most of your time with family and friends, and serve our collection of pate with drinks or as a tasty starter. It is the most versatile fast food. Crookedshaws Pate is available from Mr. Lees the renowned butcher in Kelso and Yetholm. Gosford Farm Shop in Aberlady, Cornhill Village Shop, and Dirleton Gallery in the beautiful village of Dirleton where Catherine and her team serve scrumptious home cooked lunches, speciality coffees and slow Sunday breakfasts. The Ancum Pantry, winners of one of the prestigious Scottish Countryside Alliance Awards for their support of the community, stock a full range of our pate. They are open 7 days a week and provide fresh, locally sourced produce with traditional 1950's courtesy. You can try it in both theTopiary Cafe within Mayfield Garden Centre at Kelso, and Westgate Gallery in North Berwick who offer Crookedshaws Farmhouse Pate on their delicious lunch menus.
